Anyone who loves to have guests over, throw dinner parties, and entertain knows what a hassle it can be, especially if you live in a smaller home. It can be uncomfortable to have to crowd everyone in the same small room, provide enough seating, and enough space for everyone to be able to eat, converse, or play games comfortably. One solution for this is to take the party outside, but that doesn’t mean you’re stuck out in the elements. Here are three ways to increase the usable space on your property.
1. A Pool House
This option pretty much only works if you have a pool, but it is an easy way to increase the entertainment space on your property is to add a pool house. Pool houses are pretty small structures, but if you’re having a party around the pool not everyone is going to need a place to sit down. It creates a party space that covers pretty much all of your needs, since people can choose to be inside or outside.
2. A Pergola
Another structure you can invest in to increase the entertainment space at your home is a pergola. Pergolas are basically archways with a lattice covering over the top, which can be pretty much any length you want. The pergola will be supported by posts, but does not have walls that enclose it. This option is probably the best for people who love landscaping since pergolas are perfect for showcasing climbing plants.
3. A Gazebo
If you don’t have a pool and would rather have a space that is more enclosed, a gazebo, or pavilion is a better option for you. Gazebos usually have about six or eight sides, a roof, and have screened sides. This offers a smaller space than a pergola (depending on your needs) but is a little more intimate and closed in. Gazebos come in a variety of different styles, but many of them are made entirely of wood.
